Subject: Who is iGEL? ;)
Warning: Many information in this post are terrible outdated ^^
Hi!
Let me introduce myself to you.
My name is Johannes and I'm a 25 year old long-nose from Kiel, a city in the north of Germany. I study at the Fachhochschule Kiel (Fachhochschule = university of applied sciences) a course called Internet Science. You can think of that as informatics light specialized for internet and network technology. I have been interested in computing for ~13 years, so I guess, it is not a bad choice.
I live together with two other guys in a flat share in a nice apartment, maybe I show you some photos when I've cleaned my room next time.
But here is a picture of myself. It was taken in September 2005 in Seoul
The maps are showing the location of Kiel and are copied from Wikipedia.

My interest in Korea started after watching a couple of very good Korean movies (among other My Sassy Girl, A Family, A Tale of Two Sisters). I recently started to learn Korean and planing to study it in Korea for a semester or two. I also like to get to know people from Korea, the major reason for this board.
A word about my English: It's not that good. I never liked the English lessons back in school and just knew some basic words and phrases. But since there are so many english sites and movies, I learnt it in the following years step by step. After four years of learning by consuming I recently started to write in englisch forums. So be lenient with me.
Actually, my nickname iGEL is a product of my bad English knowledge. Back in 1994, two friends and I played a flight simulator called TFX, and I had to choose a call sign. One of my friends suggested "eagle", which sounds exactly like the German word Igel (which means hedgehog). So I typed Igel and my friends laughed at me, but I liked it as a nickname from the first second.
Since the big i and the small L are very alike, I inverted the case of the letters, and since then it is my nick name.
Btw: A good English German dictionary is http://dict.leo.org/.
That's it for now. If there is something you like to know, don't be shy and ask! And maybe you take the time to write a sentence or two about yourself!
