JOB ADVERT

ITS Korea, Co. started during the late 90s as a research institute in Seoul
with dependencies in San Francisco, Germany, Singapore, and the UK.

While initially conceived of as a firm offering services in areas such as
grant aquisition, quantitative (statistical) research analyses on demand,
and conducting independent research itself, we are now expanding and
in the process of penetrating other segments.

We employ criteria such as the following in our selection process:

- fluency in English and fair knowledge of Korean or German or
- fluency in German and a fair knowledge of Korean/English or
- excellent English and fluency in another language (f.i. Chinese, Japanese,
  Spanish, French, Italian)
- flexibility in terms of time
- academic credentials (preferably postgraduate level+, but undergrads will also be considered)
- qualifications (such as TESOL, documented teaching or research experience)

Preferred areas of expertise (selection):
Business management, economics, international trade, cognitive sciences, education,
health sciences & medicine, social work, behavioral sciences, fine and performing arts.

Some of our strengths:
Flexibility to accomodate individuals' needs and demands, long-time knowledge of the
market, widely networked, high professionality.

Some of our weaknesses:
No insurance provided (short-term contracts), no free room & board (but we can help
with accomodations), no stable income (but we can bargain about contract terms such
as a defined amount of monthly pay), no free flights, no visa issuance (exceptions possible).

Pay:
Flexible. Starting at 4,100 KRW (which is about minimal hourly wage in the RoK) up to
100-150 EUR/hr.

If you feel able and ready to apply, please send a complete CV and,
if applicable, additional records and documents to:

ITS-Korea (at) live.co.kr

There is no fixed closing date, but we recommend to apply asap,
if possible before 1 Feb 2010.

We also advise you to include information such as your earliest possible
starting date, your current location, personal statements, and other
material that may help us to understand you and your needs & resources better.

Please use the same email address for inquiries.

Sincerely,

Benny

ITS HR Dept. Manager

Subject: ITS Internships
Hello,

we at ITS had inquiries about the possibility of providing internships,
so I reckon a public statement about this may help prospective applicants.

As a rule of thumb, we do not offer internships.

However, if you are able to describe precisely what you are looking
for in an internship, we will -- if your other qualifications are OK --
try to match your needs to what we can provide you with.

Since such involves case-by-case decisions, I'd advise that
any interns-to-be should send me an email (see address in the
first posting) with all the information you feel able to provide about
your expectations & current situation and we pick it up from there.

Cheers,

Benny

Subject: Update on our openings at ITS
Dear all,

we had quite a few applications coming in from this site and elsewhere.

Don't forget that the deadline is 1 Feb 10 but we won't finalize the process
until at/around Korea's Lunar New Year holidays.

Because of some recent changes in Korean legislation about
hiring staff, we now actively discourage applications for internships and
full-time as well as part-time positions
. However, those that
have applied already and who have got a confirmation of receipt
are still in the loop.

If you are applying for jobs on a honorarium basis, please give
us some idea about the hourly/daily pay you'd expect, including
times & days you will be available to work for ITS (which btw recently changed
to ITSA, Co.).

One thing will be pretty certain. You won't be able to subsist on ITS(A) income
alone. Consider it more an additional monetary bonus to what you live off at the moment.

Cheers,

Benny

Subject: More Updates About the ITS Application Process
Dear all,

thanks so much for your interest in our ITS job openings!

We are now especially keen to find individuals with an impeccable
command of written and spoken English. It does not matter whether
you are a so-called "native speaker," but prospective applicants
should be able to converse about sophisticated topics without any problems.

They should preferably have an advanced academic degree, a rich active vocabulary,
ample writing experience (please send us some writing samples if feasible), and
experience in multi-cultural settings where English was the main means of
communication.

Kind regards,

Benny
