Subject: about your question
Hi. I read your article.
You said you wonder why Korea and Japan has argument about Dokdo.
That's because it is not only just an island but also It has lots of natutal resources.
Specifically to say, There are tons of natural resources around the island.
Also, it is important place of fishing. I mean the area.
I am not sure I gave you clear answer.
If you have more questions, then just leave the post please.
Thanks~
Have a nice day. ^^

Subject: Thank you for your interest in Korean!!
For over thousand year, Korea and Japan involved in a bad relationship.  Japan once destroyed Korea, and Japan never apologize for it.  Japan even tries to change the history by teaching Japanese students a wrong history.  I think Dokdo is Korean's territory, not because I am a Korean, but because there are many proofs and evidences.  I think that Japaneses know that Dokdo is Korean's territory under their deep heart.  They are being evil and vicious again.  I am really tired of stubborn Japan.  Of course, Dokdo is the biggest problem, but do you know that Japan also argues that some parts in China and Russia are their territory? Japan is completely being nonsense to many countries.  I think now is the time for Japan's awakening.  Thank you for reading my reply.  I really appreciate your love and interest for Korea.  Thank you!!

Hi, just stopped by and thought it might be helpful to write some comment on it.

I think this problem has further extended to the governmental problem.

Both Korean and Japanese govenments cant just get away with it now, as you know, with the whole nation's eyes focused on this matter... I mean how scary would it be for both governments to imagine that!

You know.. elction-wise, impeachment-wise...etc, for all those reasons, making a compromise is getting harder and harder...

And to add more, all territory issues have been evoking intensity and sensitivity of governments all around the world.

Well.. that's about it. this is what I think.

Oh, and the thing about natural resources, that maybe the one of the biggest reasons why Japanese government's been so grumpy about Dokdo.

I'm trying my best not to have a biased opinion about this but I guess its really hard when you belong to one of those countries.

Well, I want to thank you all for your interests in this whole Dokdo issue.

P.S. I am Korean, currently living in NZ. If you have any questions about Dokdo or whatever that relates to Korea (or possibly NZ lol), don't hesitate to e-mail me :D [karalizum@hotmail.com]

Hi Aimee,

Thanks for your Explanation !

I understand your Point very well and I agree that both Goverments cant just get away from it now!

You say that the whole nations eyes are focused on this matter in Korea but I know that Japanese People for example are not so involved in this matter compare to Korea! Only the Goverment!
Both Goverments just do not wants to lose there Face I think!

There must be something interesting ( natural resources ) otherwise Japan would not send there Ships for survey an Korea would not be so irritated about it !

Anyway I hope your both Goverments can find a solution before this case will be escalate!

Thanks for writing in a neutral way about this Problem again!

Hi!

I just found a German article about the newest developments in the Dokdo/Takeshima crisis, which make some good explanations about the motivations of both goverments: http://www.nzz.ch/2006/04/22/al/articleE26C0.html Worth a read, if you understand German!
