Hi Johannes,

Hallo Dergio,

Meines Wissens spîelte Ahn nie in Rom soindern beim AC Perugia!

In Carson, California, striker Lee Dong-gook opened the scoring for the Taeguk Warriors in the 22nd minute with a long curving blast into the right corner of the net.

Midfielder Kim Doo-hyun added another score in the 75th minute and striker Lee Chun-soo scored the final goal three minutes later.

Taeguk Warriors Conquer Mexico, 1-0
The national soccer team on Wednesday beat its highest-ranked opponent of the year Mexico, 1-0.

Against sixth-ranked Mexico in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Lee Dong-gook scored off of a goalie's error in the 15th minute as South Korea held on for the win.

Saving a direct kick by striker Lee Chun-soo, Mexican goalie Oswaldo Sanchez rolled out the ball to clear a bit too far. The alert Lee Dong-gook quickly took advantage and kicked it into the net.

Sanchez and the Mexican players cried foul to the referee but to no avail.

Mexico had a final chance to tie in the waning minutes, but South Korean goalie Lee Woon-jae saved a close header.

South Korea won its fifth game against three losses and a tie during its overseas tour that began in mid-January.

Against Mexico, the team has four wins, five losses and two ties.

Fighting Korea :-)

The Korean Football team on Wednesday dominated host Syria in the first half, and hung on for a 2-1 win in the first Asian Cup qualifier for both nations.

Midfielder Kim Do-hyeon got South Korea off to a fast start in the fifth minute with a close shot that hit the left corner of the net.

Ranked 95th in the FIFA world rankings, Syria looked like an easy opponent for South Korea, but tied the score after Fesar Al Khatib's breakaway goal in the 48th minute.

Just two minutes later, however, K-League Player of the Year Lee Chun-soo put South Korea back in the lead. Taking a long cross from defender Kim Dong-jin, Lee blasted a curving shot from the right side that went into the left part of Syria's net.

Aiming for its first Asian title since 1960, South Korea blew dozens of chances to score throughout the game.

Syria threatened to tie on several occasions, including on a header in the waning seconds, but failed to do so.

The two teams are in Group B with Iran and Taiwan for next year's Asian Cup.
